1. General information

• Total expected enrollment target: 7,985 students
• Includes 3 admission methods:
  1. Talent recruitment method (XTTN)
  2. Admission method is based on the results of the Thinking Assessment Test (ĐGTD)
  3. Admission method is based on the results of the 2023 high school graduation exam (high school)

2. Admissions methods
(1) Talent recruitment: includes the following methods:

(1.1) Direct admission of excellent students according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training;
(1.2) Admission is based on international certificates SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP and IB;
(1.3) Admission is based on profile combined with interview.

1.1. Direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training
Subjects for admission: Candidates graduating from high school in 2023, achieving high results in the excellent student exam (HSG), the Science and Technology competition (KHKT) organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, specifically as follows :

i) Candidates who are summoned to participate in the national team selection exam for the International Olympics or who win first, second, and third prizes in the national student selection exam will be considered for direct admission into majors appropriate to the prize-winning subjects.
ii) Candidates in the National team participating in the International Science and Technology competition or winning First, Second, and Third prizes in the National Science and Technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training will be considered for direct admission into majors appropriate to the topic area. Contest.

1.2. Admission based on international certificate
Subjects for admission: Candidates with a GPA of 8.0 or higher in each year of grade 10, 11, 12; Have at least 1 of the following international certificates: SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP and IB.

1.3. Admission based on Competency Profile combined with interview
Subjects for admission: Candidates graduating from high school in 2023, with average scores for studying cultural subjects (except for 2 subjects: Physical Education and GDQPAN) in each year of grades 10, 11 and 12 reaching 8.0 or higher and meeting at least one (01) of the following conditions:

i) Be selected to participate in the National Student Examination organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or win the First, Second, Third, Fourth or Consolation prize in the provincial/city-level student examination organized by the Department of Education and Training (or equivalent by other agencies). National universities and regional universities organize the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Foreign Languages, and Combinations during high school;
ii) Selected to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training;
iii) Selected to participate in the Road to Olympia competition organized by Vietnam Television from monthly rounds or more;
iv) Have an International IELTS (academic) certificate of 6.0 or higher (or other equivalent English certificate - see Table 2 of English certificate conversion) to register for admission into the English Language and Economics - Management majors. physical;
v) Specialized students (including Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Foreign Language) of specialized high schools and high schools nationwide, specialized classes, specialized systems of universities and national universities , Regional University.

(2) Admission is based on the results of the thinking assessment test

• Subjects for admission: Candidates participating in the Thinking Assessment exam (GTD) organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology;
• Admission conditions: Candidates must have graduated from high school and have met the threshold score for receiving admission applications as prescribed by Hanoi University of Science and Technology;
• Expected admission combination: K00 (mathematical thinking, reading comprehension, scientific thinking/problem solving);
• Admission to all majors/programs except English Language programs;

(3) Admission is based on 2023 high school graduation exam scores

• Subjects for admission: Candidates participating in the 2023 high school graduation exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Departments of Education and Training;
• Admission conditions: Candidates must have graduated from high school and have met the threshold score for receiving admission applications as prescribed by Hanoi University of Science and Technology;
• Admission combinations A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D07, D26, D28 and D29 (depending on each different training program).

Note:

• Candidates can use VSTEP and international English certificates (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC...) to convert into English scores when considering admission according to combinations A01, D01, D07;
• For candidates applying for admission to programs taught in English, in addition to the necessary conditions (according to the admission methods), candidates need to have one of the following English proficiency conditions:
  
  • VSTEP English certificate level B1 or higher, IELTS (academic) 5.0 or higher or equivalent;
  • The 2023 high school graduation exam score in English meets the requirements of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

3. List of programs and enrollment targets for 2023
In 2023, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to enroll students in 63 training programs, including:

• Number of mass programs (standard programs): 35 (02 new programs)
• Number of high quality programs: 23, of which:
  
  • Program taught in English: 16
  • Program with foreign language enhancement (Japanese, French): 03
  • Programs with other foreign language output standards (Japanese, German): 04
• Number of PFIEV programs: 02
• Number of international affiliate programs: 03

5. Information about the 2023 Thinking Assessment exam
5.1. Exam structure in 2023
To comply with the 2018 general education program of the Ministry of Education and Training, newly implemented from 2022 and ensure the rights of students, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to adjust the content of the exam sections of the private assessment test. only in a compact way. Accordingly, the total time of the test includes 150 minutes for 3 test contents including: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension Thinking (30 minutes) and Problem Solving Thinking (60 minutes) with the form The exam is completely Multiple Choice. The exam will be held many times throughout the year. Candidates will be issued a Certificate of exam results and can use it for admission to higher education institutions across the country in need.

5.2 Exam organization plan in 2023
(1) Contest participants: Candidates are high school students, independent candidates.
(2) Scope: Candidates in all provinces and cities nationwide can register to take the exam.
(3) Exam format: Objective multiple choice exam within a general time frame of 150 minutes.
(4) Estimated time and location for the 2023 exam: Organize 03 exam sessions

• Phase 1: May 2023, in Hanoi
• Phase 2: June 2023, in Hanoi
• Phase 3: July 2023 at some locations (Hanoi, Vinh, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen...)

(5) Sectors can use the results of the Thinking Assessment Test for university admission in 2023:

• Science, engineering and technology sectors;
• Economic, foreign trade, finance and banking sectors;
• Medical and pharmaceutical sectors;
• Industry and agriculture sectors.
