Hanoi University of Science and Technology respectfully announces admission to PhD level in 2023 according to 26 majors (Appendix I) as follows:

I. Admissions method: Admission based on competency profile

II. Training methods

Formal training with a standard training plan of 3 or 4 years for candidates with a master's degree and 4 years for candidates with a university degree. Registering to study 30 credits/year is called full-time.

III. Subjects and conditions for application

1. General requirements for candidates:

a) Have graduated with a master's degree or graduated from a university with excellent grades or higher in an appropriate field, or graduated with a level equivalent to level 7 according to the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework in a number of specific specialized training fields appropriate to the requirements. Doctoral training industry;

b) Meet the entry requirements according to the training program standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and of the doctoral training program registered for admission;

c) Have research experience demonstrated through a master's thesis of a research-oriented training program; or published scientific articles or reports; or have worked for 2 years (24 months) or more as a lecturer or researcher at training establishments and science and technology organizations;

d) Have a draft research outline and expected study and research plan for the entire course.

2. Applicants who are Vietnamese citizens must meet foreign language proficiency requirements as evidenced by one of the following diplomas and certificates:

a) Diploma of university level or higher issued by a foreign training institution, branch of a foreign training institution in Vietnam or a Vietnamese training institution to full-time learners in a foreign language outside;

b) University degree in foreign languages issued by Vietnamese training institutions;

c) Have one of the foreign language certificates specified in Appendix II of this Notice, valid as of the date of application submission, or other foreign language certificates equivalent to level 4 qualifications (according to the competency framework). 6-level foreign language for Vietnam) announced by the Ministry of Education and Training. The duration of foreign language certificates is 2 years from the date of issuance of the certificate.

Applicants who are foreign citizens, if registering to study a doctoral degree program in Vietnamese, must have a minimum Vietnamese certificate of level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Competency Framework for foreigners. and must meet the second foreign language requirement as determined by the training institution, except in the case of being a native speaker of the language used in the doctoral degree program.

IV. Application profile

Application documents include the following documents (application form downloaded on the online application registration page Profile form):

1. Admission application;

2. Official dispatch from the direct management agency to apply for recruitment according to current regulations on training and fostering civil servants and public employees (if the candidate is a civil servant or public employee);

3. Criminal record (if the applicant is not a civil servant or public employee);

4. Scientific background of the candidate;

5. Scientific background of the scientific guidance group;

6. A letter of recommendation from at least 01 scientist with the title of professor, associate professor or doctorate of science or doctorate who has participated in professional activities with the candidate and is knowledgeable about the field in which the applicant is interested. application for research purposes. The recommendation letter includes contents assessing the candidate's professional qualities, professional capacity and ability to conduct research;

7. Confirmation of agreement to guide graduate students from the scientific supervisory group;

8. Notarized copies of diplomas and university and master's transcripts. Graduation diplomas issued by foreign educational institutions that are not exempt from recognition according to regulations must have additional diploma recognition by the Diploma Recognition Center (Department of Quality Management under the Ministry of Education and Training);

9. Diplomas and certificates proving foreign language ability;

10. Research outline signed by the supervisor (6 copies) with content about the research direction or research topic (overview of related research, reasons for choosing research direction/topic, objectives research, tasks and expected results);

11. Copies of published scientific articles (6 sets).
