Hanoi University Of Science And Technology (Hust) Makes World Top 400 For Engineering & Technology In Qs World University Rankings

In the Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings published on October 16th, HUST and the two National Universities were listed among the world’s top universities by subject in 2020.

HUST was the Vietnamese university with the highest rank as it was placed 301-400 in the fields of Engineering and Technology. Hanoi National University (HNU) and Ho Chi Minh National University (HCMNU) were ranked 401-500 and 601-800 respectively. 1008 institutions participated in the ranking for this category.

In the Computer Science category, only HUST and HCMNU were listed and were ranked 601+ out of 759 universities.

Times Higher Education (THE) 2020 World University Rankings by subjects are based on 13 evaluation indicators, similar to The 2020 University Rankings. These indicators are classified into 5 groups including training (30%), research (30%), citations (27.5%), international refutation (7.5%) and and revenues from cooperation with enterprises (5%). However, the calculation method was slightly adjusted for each particular subject.

In early September, HUST, HNU and HCMNU appeared on THE 2020 World University Rankings (overall rankings). The two representatives from Hanoi were in the top 801-1,000, amd HCMNU was ranked in the top of 1,000+ out of 1396 institutions.

In February, three subject groúp of HUST (Electrical – Electronics, Mechanical – Aviation and Manufacturing, Computer Science – Information System) were listed in the top of 400-500 in the world by QS.
