Four industry groups of Hanoi University of Science and Technology increased to the top 400 and 500 in the world according to QS Ranking 2020

The QS 2020 ranking of world universities by field was announced on March 4, 2020. This ranking evaluates the order of the world's best universities in each field, including 48 industry groups divided into 5 main fields. The 2020 rankings include 1,368 schools from 158 countries.

The evaluation indicators of this year's ranking focus on 4 criteria: reputation among academics (Academic Reputation), reputation among employers (Employer Reputation), average number of citations per article (Citations per paper) and H-index (measures productivity and impact of scientific publications). Reputation among academics is assessed with the highest weight (accounting for 40%), demonstrating the influence of peer reviews on universities in their field. In addition, this year 22 million scientific publications along with 200 million citations were analyzed to produce data for this ranking.

Compared to 2019, all 3 industry groups of Hanoi University of Science and Technology that were ranked in the field of Engineering & Information Technology increased from 50 to 100 places and continued to maintain the No. 1 position in Vietnam. Meanwhile, the University's Mathematics major entered the Top 500 of this ranking for the first time and ranked 2nd in Vietnam, affirming the important role and position of Mathematics in a leading technical university. and technology.

In 2019, Hanoi University of Science and Technology was also ranked 351-400 in the world and 4th in Southeast Asia in the field of Engineering and Technology according to another prestigious ranking, THE World University ranking Ranking by Subject. These results continue to affirm the prestige and influence of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the field of science and technology, which has reached out to the region and the world.
